Luka Modrić confronted Petar Sučić after a late challenge during Milan’s 1-0 derby win over Inter, producing one of the most intense moments of the Serie A clash.
The Milan derby between Inter and AC Milan delivered a tense Croatian duel between Luka Modrić and Petar Sučić.
Milan secured a narrow 1-0 victory after Pervis Estupiñán scored in the 35th minute. The Ecuador international joined the Rossoneri last year from Brighton and previously played for clubs such as Villarreal, Watford, Granada, Almería, Mallorca, and Osasuna.
The most heated moment arrived near the end of the match. In the 89th minute, Petar Sučić challenged his older national teammate Luka Modrić with a strong tackle.
The referee allowed play to continue, but the situation escalated immediately. Modrić quickly got back on his feet and confronted the younger midfielder.
The experienced Croatian then responded with a forceful challenge of his own, sending Sučić to the ground and making his frustration clear. After the contact, Modrić added a sharp gesture toward his compatriot.
The brief confrontation highlighted the intensity of the derby, where even national teammates refused to hold back during one of Serie A’s fiercest rivalries.
Despite the moment of tension, Sučić received positive ratings for his overall performance in the match.
