Real Madrid triumphed in the UEFA Super Cup, defeating Atalanta 2-0 in Warsaw.

The first goal came from Federico Valverde in the 59th minute, following a brilliant assist from Vinicius Junior, while debutant Kylian Mbappe scored in the 68th minute after being set up by Jude Bellingham. Real's captain, Luka Modrić (38), entered the game in the 77th minute, replacing Rodrygo.

This victory has made Modrić the most decorated player in Real Madrid's history, with 27 trophies to his name. Prior to tonight, Modrić shared the top spot with Nacho Fernandez, but with the veteran Spanish defender leaving the club this summer, Modrić now stands alone at the summit. The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner has made 535 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 39 goals and providing 86 assists.

Before this match, Modrić shared the record for the most UEFA Super Cup titles (four) with Arie Haan, Paolo Maldini, Dani Alves, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, and Dani Carvajal. With Real's victory tonight, Modrić and Carvajal have now set a new record, each with five UEFA Super Cups.
