Mohamed Salah's arrival at Trabzonspor has created extraordinary excitement, with local authorities now proposing to rename the street where the Egyptian star will live.

Mohamed Salah has only just arrived at Trabzonspor, but the Egyptian superstar could soon have something few footballers can claim – his home could be located on a street bearing his own name.
The remarkable proposal comes from Mustafa Bıyık, mayor of the Yomra municipality, where Salah will live. Bıyık announced that the local council will be asked to rename the street containing the former Liverpool star's new home as Mohamed Salah Street.
"We are extremely proud that Mohamed Salah, the biggest transfer in the history of Turkish football, will live in our district," Bıyık said. "With the decision of the council that we will make this week, we will name the street where Salah's house stands Mohamed Salah Street. We have done what we could; now it is Salah's turn."
Salah-mania has taken over Trabzon
Salah received an extraordinary welcome following his move to Trabzonspor. At his presentation, he wore the number 61 shirt, representing Trabzon's provincial registration number, although he normally wears number 10 in competitive matches.
His image is already everywhere around the city. A truck featuring a giant picture of Salah in a Trabzonspor shirt has been driving through Trabzon, while the Egyptian has quickly become the face of the club's new season.
According to reports in Italy, Salah will earn more than €20m across his two-year contract and also received a signing bonus worth around €7m.
Most importantly for Trabzonspor, the 34-year-old has already started delivering on the pitch. Salah scored twice against Istanbul Başakşehir in only his second Turkish league appearance, adding even more momentum to the extraordinary excitement surrounding his arrival.
"Salah is one of the most important transfers in the history of Trabzonspor and Turkish football. We are proud and happy that such a big star of world football will live in Yomra," Bıyık added.
The proposal must still receive approval from the Yomra council before the administrative process can begin. If it goes through, Salah will find himself in an extraordinary situation: Mohamed Salah will literally be living on Mohamed Salah Street.
