Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White has been banned from driving for six months after admitting to six speeding offences in just eight weeks, including one at 96mph.

Morgan Gibbs-White, the rising Nottingham Forest and England midfielder, has been handed a six-month driving ban after admitting to six separate speeding offences within just two months.
The 25-year-old appeared before Nottingham Magistrates' Court this week, where he pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined a total of £3,996. Each offence also carried three penalty points, resulting in a total of 19 points—well over the legal limit of 12 that triggers an automatic disqualification.
Among the violations, Gibbs-White was caught driving at a staggering 96mph on a dual carriageway between Stragglethorpe Road and Lings Bar Road. He also admitted to other speeding incidents on multiple occasions, including twice on December 5 and once on Christmas Day.
Initially facing a potential £6,000 fine, the penalty was reduced after his guilty plea. He was fined £666 per offence and ordered to pay an additional £1,598 victim surcharge and £110 in court costs.
The ban comes during a pivotal period in Gibbs-White's career. After helping Forest stay afloat in their first two seasons back in the Premier League, he remains one of the league's most influential midfielders. This season, he has delivered 5 goals and 9 assists in 34 appearances.
He was named Nottingham Forest Player of the Season in 2023 and remains a hot property in the transfer market. Reports suggest that Manchester City are monitoring him as a potential long-term successor to Kevin De Bruyne. Forest have reportedly placed a £100 million price tag on his head to ward off suitors.
Speaking recently on Forest’s late-season slump, Gibbs-White acknowledged the team’s struggles: “It’s been a tough season—very demanding. We can’t make excuses because the fans deserve better.”
While the driving ban won’t impact his availability on the pitch, it has certainly cast a shadow over a player widely seen as one of England’s brightest midfield talents.
