Jose Mourinho is linked with Newcastle United as pressure grows on Eddie Howe, raising the possibility of a fifth Premier League spell.
Jose Mourinho could be heading back to the Premier League, with Newcastle United considering the experienced coach.
The Portuguese manager, currently at Benfica, has been linked by English media with a move to Newcastle, where pressure is building on Eddie Howe.
Poor results this season have raised questions about Howe’s future and opened the door for speculation about a possible replacement.
Former England international Chris Waddle shared his view, highlighting a key dilemma for any club thinking about Mourinho.
"He has won everything, but people accept his style only when he wins," Waddle said.
He also raised doubts about whether Mourinho’s football fits Newcastle’s expectations.
"You have to win here and play exciting football. Mourinho has not played that way for a long time," he added.
Newcastle United have improved in recent years, winning a domestic trophy and returning to European competitions. This season, results have dropped, which increased pressure on Howe.
If Mourinho arrives, it would mark his fifth spell in the Premier League.
He first joined Chelsea in 2004 and built a dominant team. He returned in 2013, before leaving again in 2015.
In 2016, he became Manchester United manager, winning the Europa League and finishing second in the league before leaving in 2018.
He returned once more in 2019 with Tottenham Hotspur, staying until 2021.
Now, with his name back in the discussion, another Premier League chapter remains a real possibility.
