Turkish side Fenerbahçe won 4-3 away at Swiss club Lugano in the second round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

The standout performer for José Mourinho's team was Edin Džeko. The 38-year-old Bosnian striker scored a hat-trick in the first match of the season, which delighted his coach:

Mourinho and Džeko Complained About the Pitch

"Edin played very, very well. Scoring three goals in any match is a fantastic achievement. That man doesn't age. He reminds me of myself when I was younger. He talks a lot, complains a lot. He has the emotions of a young man and is happy because when I did things like that, I always got a red card," said the Portuguese coach.

Džeko added, "Mourinho is a great character with many different sides. He's fun when joking, but when he's angry, he's really angry," said the legendary striker, who also complained about the pitch in Switzerland. The game was played on an artificial turf surface: "It's unacceptable to play on a pitch like this. We didn't adapt well and conceded an early goal. Conceding three goals is too much, but I think this result is very good."

The winner of this tie will face Lille in the next round, with the return leg set to be played next Tuesday in Istanbul. Meanwhile, Youssef En-Nesyri (27), a tall Moroccan striker highly desired by Mourinho, is set to sign for Sevilla. According to Transfermarkt, he is valued at 20 million euros.
