Napoli needed a statement signing in attack after losing both Victor Osimhen in the summer and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in January. Instead, they settled for Noah Okafor, a striker who has struggled for goals at AC Milan.

Despite links to high-profile players like Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, Napoli ultimately signed Okafor on loan from Milan until the end of the season, with an option to buy for just under €23 million.

The decision has raised eyebrows among fans, as Okafor arrives with a modest scoring record. The Swiss forward netted just seven goals in 53 appearances for Milan across all competitions, including just one goal this season. Before his move to Italy, he showed more promise at RB Salzburg, and Napoli supporters will be hoping he can rediscover that form.

The departure of Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain left a huge void in Napoli’s attack, and with Osimhen also gone—loaned out to Turkey after a turbulent summer—expectations were high for a marquee signing. Instead, the reigning Serie A champions opted for a lower-profile reinforcement.

Now, the big question is whether Antonio Conte has enough firepower for a strong second half of the season. If not, the outspoken coach will surely make his feelings known.
