Newport midfielder Harrison Biggins produced one of the goals of the season against Salford, scoring from well inside his own half – but his spectacular strike was not enough.

Harrison Biggins scored the kind of goal football fans rarely get to see, producing an extraordinary long-range strike for Newport in their League Two clash against Salford.
The 30-year-old midfielder first intercepted a Salford pass before immediately spotting the goalkeeper away from his line. Instead of looking for a teammate, Biggins decided to try something spectacular.
He launched his shot from well inside his own half – closer to Newport's goal than the halfway line – and watched the ball travel an enormous distance before finding the net.
The incredible finish gave Newport the lead and sparked wild celebrations among the travelling supporters, with Biggins producing an immediate contender for one of the most spectacular goals of the season.
A spectacular goal without a happy ending
Unfortunately for Biggins, his wondergoal did not bring Newport any points. Salford turned the match around dramatically in the closing stages.
The hosts equalised in the 83rd minute before scoring again in the 90th minute to complete a 2-1 comeback victory.
Newport therefore left empty-handed, but Biggins produced a moment that will be remembered far longer than the final result.
