Paying Barcelona a still-record €222 million, PSG handed Neymar the highest contract in European football history. However, according to Lewis Bryon, a former Crystal Palace player, Neymar’s deal also included a clause that sounds almost unbelievable.
"The craziest clause I’ve ever heard of was Neymar’s at PSG," Bryon told English journalists. "During a coaching course, I met a PSG staff member, whose name I won’t reveal. He told me Neymar earned €200,000 every time he went to greet fans after a game."
Bryon claims the information came from a reliable source within PSG, adding another layer of extravagance to Neymar's already lavish deal. The French giants spared no expense to bring Neymar to Paris, but the revelation of this clause has sparked fresh debates about the lengths clubs go to satisfy superstar players.
