Nico Williams, after impressive performances at the European Championship, confirms he will remain with Athletic Bilbao, despite transfer rumors.
Nico Williams has been delivering phenomenal performances at the European Championship and, alongside Lamine Yamal, is the most pleasant surprise for the Spanish national team.
As soon as he played a few good matches, stories about the younger of the Williams brothers potentially moving to a big European club started to circulate. However, the 21-year-old winger has other plans:
"I signed a new contract with Bilbao a few weeks ago, and I feel very happy there," said Williams.
The young attacker shone this season in La Liga and deservedly received a call from coach Luis De la Fuente for the Euro. He was somewhat surprised by the question of whether he would stay with the Basque team next season:
"It's very strange to get questions about my future now. I am very happy where I am," Williams said.
