RB Leipzig’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has complicated their summer plans, with Benjamin Šeško now increasingly likely to move amid strong Premier League interest.

RB Leipzig have officially dropped out of the Champions League race, and with it, their hopes of keeping Benjamin Šeško may have faded as well.

After a disappointing draw with Werder Bremen, Leipzig are now mathematically out of the top-four finish with one round left in the Bundesliga. The result ends a frustrating season and could trigger a major shake-up at the club.

The biggest concern in Leipzig’s front office is the future of Šeško, the Slovenian striker who has been one of the team’s few consistent bright spots in an otherwise forgettable campaign.

Without Champions League football to offer, Leipzig will find it difficult to convince him to stay—especially with major interest from the Premier League, where clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool are all reportedly tracking him closely.

Šeško, still just 20 years old, joined from RB Salzburg, and has adapted well to top-level football in Germany. However, unlike in previous years, Salzburg are not currently in top form either, which means Leipzig may not receive the kind of young reinforcements they’ve relied on in the past.

This summer could prove difficult on all fronts. Leipzig will have to manage player exits, recruitment challenges, and a loss of European prestige—all while trying to rebuild their squad without the financial and sporting pull of Champions League competition.
