Barcelona’s bid for Luis Diaz has been rejected by Liverpool, who view the Colombian winger as untouchable despite ongoing interest from the La Liga champions.
Liverpool have reportedly rejected an official offer from Barcelona for Colombian winger Luis Diaz, making it clear they have no intention of parting ways with one of their most dynamic attackers.
Barcelona, who once regularly raided Liverpool for top talent like Luis Suarez, Javier Mascherano, and Philippe Coutinho, have now hit a wall in their pursuit of Diaz. According to British media, the Spanish champions submitted a concrete offer yesterday—but Liverpool declined without hesitation.
While Barcelona are reportedly using their familiar strategy of trying to convince the player to push for a move, Liverpool remain in a position of strength. Diaz is under contract until 2027 and is considered a key part of Arne Slot’s plans following the departure of Jürgen Klopp.
Diaz had an impressive campaign in 2024-25, making 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and contributing eight assists. His form has made him one of the most consistent performers in Liverpool’s front line and a fan favourite at Anfield.
Barcelona, constrained by ongoing financial challenges, are believed to be counting on player pressure to facilitate the move, but Liverpool’s firm stance suggests they are not interested in repeating past mistakes—especially after their €135 million loss on the ill-fated Coutinho deal.
For now, it seems the days of Barcelona cherry-picking stars from Liverpool are firmly in the past.
