RB Leipzig reunites Benjamin Šeško with former Salzburg teammate Noah Okafor, signing the Swiss forward on loan from AC Milan with a €25 million option to buy.
RB Leipzig is bolstering its squad for the second half of the season with significant reinforcements, including a familiar face for Benjamin Šeško—Swiss international Noah Okafor, formerly his partner at Salzburg.
Okafor, who moved to AC Milan in the summer, is reportedly set to join Leipzig on loan until the end of the season, with the German club securing a €25 million purchase option. The deal reunites Okafor with Šeško, with whom he enjoyed a productive partnership in Salzburg, where they combined for an impressive 28 goals across all competitions during the 2022/23 season.
Okafor’s move to Serie A has not gone as planned. Despite high expectations, the forward has struggled to find consistency, managing only one goal in 16 appearances for Milan. Leipzig now provides him an opportunity to rediscover his form in a system where he previously excelled alongside Šeško.
Okafor’s arrival isn’t the only addition for Leipzig. The club is also set to sign Ridle Baku from Wolfsburg to reinforce the right side of their defense, signaling their ambition to remain competitive in both the Bundesliga and European competitions.
