Nottingham Forest targets Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz for a potential return to the Premier League, aiming to bolster their European football ambitions.
Nottingham Forest is reportedly preparing a move for Douglas Luiz, the Brazilian midfielder who made a name for himself as a key player for Aston Villa before a challenging spell in Italy. According to Brazilian outlet Globo, Forest sees Luiz as a prime target to strengthen their midfield as they aim for a historic return to European football.
Luiz joined Juventus in the summer, fulfilling his dream of playing in Italy. However, the move has not gone as planned. The 26-year-old has struggled to adapt under Thiago Motta, amassing just 13 appearances this season. His reduced playing time has led to speculation about a possible exit, with Premier League clubs closely monitoring his situation.
During his time with Aston Villa (2019–2024), Luiz became a fan favorite, registering 22 goals and 24 assists in 204 appearances. His performances caught the attention of top English clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester City, further cementing his reputation in England.
Underlining their determination to secure European football, Nottingham Forest has reportedly initiated contact with Luiz’s agent, Kia Joorabchian. While no formal offer has been made yet, the club's intent signals a serious push to land the experienced midfielder.
