Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson has become one of Europe’s hottest properties, with Manchester City and Bayern Munich both tracking him ahead of a possible blockbuster summer transfer.
Nottingham Forest may be struggling for consistency this season, but one thing is clear: they are sitting on one of the most valuable midfielders in Europe.
Elliot Anderson, 23, has become a prime target for Manchester City and Bayern Munich, with Europe’s elite closely monitoring his situation ahead of a potential blockbuster transfer.
According to Fichajes, Manchester City have already made contact with the player’s representatives to explore the conditions of a possible deal. After several seasons of consistent and mature performances in the Premier League, Anderson is now considered one of the most complete midfielders of his generation.
Bayern Munich are also watching closely. The German giants reportedly see Anderson as a long-term pillar of their midfield rebuild, although they are expected to make a concrete move only after the end of the season.
Manchester United are also in the picture. The club have followed Anderson since last summer and still see him as a potential key piece, especially with uncertainties surrounding the futures of Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes.
Forest want more than €100 million
Nottingham Forest are in a very strong negotiating position. Anderson is under contract until 2029, and the club have already made it clear that they will demand more than £80 million – around €100 million – for his transfer.
Forest only signed him from Newcastle United for £41 million, but his value has almost doubled in a short space of time thanks to his development and growing influence in midfield.
Despite Forest’s difficult campaign and changes on the bench, Anderson’s reputation has only grown. He is now seen as a player who could become one of the most expensive English footballers of all time.
Summer move most likely – but January not ruled out
The most realistic scenario is a summer transfer, when Europe’s biggest clubs will have more room to maneuver financially.
However, with Manchester City, Bayern and Manchester United all circling, it cannot be ruled out that the race could heat up even earlier if one of them decides to move decisively.
One thing is certain: Nottingham Forest are sitting on a gold mine, and Elliot Anderson’s next move could be one of the biggest stories of the upcoming transfer window.
