Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Germany international putting pen to paper on a contract until the summer of 2031.

The 23-year-old left-back becomes Bayern's second major signing of the summer after Ismael Saibari. According to German media reports, the Bavarian giants will pay around €55 million to secure Brown's services.

Several leading European clubs were monitoring Brown, but Bayern moved quickly to complete the transfer. The club was determined to avoid a repeat of last summer, when it missed out on Nick Woltemade after a lengthy transfer battle.

Head coach Vincent Kompany reportedly played a decisive role in convincing the defender to move to Munich after outlining his long-term plans for the player.

Frankfurt respected Brown's decision

Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche admitted the club would have preferred to keep Brown but understood his desire to join Germany's biggest club.

"Of course we would have liked Nathaniel to stay with us, but he made it clear that he wanted to take the next step in his career at Bayern. The discussions were open and respectful. We wish him every success."

Brown also thanked Eintracht following his departure.

"Joining Frankfurt was one of the best decisions of my life. I have grown enormously here as both a footballer and a person. Eintracht will always have a special place in my heart."

Another successful Frankfurt transfer

Brown joined Eintracht from Nürnberg two years ago in a deal worth around €5.5 million. After initially needing time to settle, he established himself as a regular starter under former coach Dino Toppmöller and developed into one of the Bundesliga's most highly rated full-backs.

Frankfurt have once again secured a significant profit on one of their rising stars, while Bayern strengthen a key position with one of German football's brightest young defenders.
