Atletico Madrid has officially confirmed the arrival of Argentine star Julian Alvarez from Manchester City.
Atletico Madrid today officially announced the transfer of Argentine star Julian Alvarez, who is moving to the Spanish capital from Manchester City.
The transfer is valued at €75 million, with potential bonuses that could earn City an additional €20 million. Regardless of how many bonuses Atletico ends up paying, this transfer marks the biggest sale in Manchester City’s history.
Alvarez has signed a contract with Atletico until 2030, making him the third major signing for the Madrid club this transfer window, following Robin Le Normand and Alexander Sorloth.
The next expected addition to Atletico is Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, but that deal has hit a snag due to a disagreement between Atletico and Chelsea over the transfer of striker Samuel Omorodion.
With that transfer falling through, both clubs are reportedly negotiating a deal that would instead see Portuguese forward Joao Felix move to Chelsea.
