Croatian talent Martin Baturina has joined Serie A newcomers Como for a club-record fee, marking Dinamo Zagreb’s sixth biggest transfer in their history.
Dinamo Zagreb and Como have finalised the long-awaited transfer of Croatian midfielder Martin Baturina, ending over a year of speculation around his future.
The 22-year-old playmaker has signed a contract with Como until 2030, becoming the most expensive signing in the Italian club’s history. The Serie A newcomers will pay €17 million up front, with performance-related bonuses potentially adding another €5 million to the final fee.
Baturina’s exit comes after a season that also saw Petar Sučić move to Inter and striker Bruno Petković leave Dinamo on a free transfer.
“Dear Martin, thank you for everything you’ve done for our club. We’ll keep following your career and we’re sure you have a bright future ahead. We wish you all the best and remember that Dinamo’s doors will always be open for you,” Dinamo said in a farewell message.
A product of Dinamo’s academy, Baturina made 165 appearances, scoring 22 goals and providing 39 assists. His move ranks as the club’s sixth biggest transfer ever, behind Joško Gvardiol, Dani Olmo, Marko Pjaca, Luka Modrić and Josip Šutalo.
