Tottenham have completed the signing of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in a deal worth around €115 million, taking the club's summer spending to approximately €285 million.

Tottenham Hotspur have officially completed one of the biggest transfers of the summer, announcing the arrival of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in a deal worth around €115 million.
The Italy international has signed a contract until 2032, becoming another marquee addition in what has already been an extraordinary summer of investment by the North London club. With Tonali's arrival, Tottenham's spending has climbed to approximately €285 million before the halfway point of July.
The 26-year-old midfielder admitted there was never any doubt about where he wanted to continue his career.
"I am very happy to be here. From the moment I arrived at the club today, I had an incredible feeling. There was talk about four or five clubs, but for me, there was only one."
Tonali also revealed that a lengthy conversation with new head coach Roberto De Zerbi convinced him that Tottenham was the perfect destination.
"I spoke with the coach for almost two hours. We talked about the club, the supporters, the stadium, and our football philosophy. It felt almost magical because I immediately knew that I wanted to sign for Tottenham."
Sporting director Johan Lange described Tonali as one of Europe's elite midfielders and believes he will become an important figure for the club.
"Sandro possesses outstanding technical ability, football intelligence and the personality needed to perform at the highest level. He brings experience, quality, and the type of commitment our supporters will appreciate."
De Zerbi, who has followed Tonali's career since his breakthrough at Brescia, was equally delighted to secure the signing.
"I have known Sandro for many years. He came through the academy at Brescia, my hometown club, so it is a special moment for us to work together. Many clubs wanted him, but he made it clear that Tottenham was his choice."
Tonali first established himself as one of Italy's brightest talents at Brescia before earning a move to AC Milan in 2020. He helped the Rossoneri win the Serie A title, made 130 appearances for the club, and developed into one of the league's finest midfielders.
He joined Newcastle in 2023 and went on to make 110 appearances across two seasons, scoring ten goals and helping the Magpies lift the Carabao Cup, ending the club's 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy.
Tottenham's summer rebuild shows no signs of slowing down. Alongside Tonali, the club has already signed Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dúbravka, underlining the club's determination to return to the top of English football after last season's disappointment.
