Celje have completed the signing of Australian winger Yaya Dukuly from Adelaide United as the Slovenian champions continue strengthening their squad.

Celje have officially completed one of the most eye-catching transfers of the Slovenian summer window by signing
Yaya Dukuly from
Adelaide United.
The Guinea-born Australian winger arrives after establishing himself as one of the standout performers in the A-League, where he built a reputation for his pace, direct running and attacking threat. While the transfer fee has not been disclosed, Dukuly's current market value is estimated at around €600,000.
Adelaide product ready for Europe
Dukuly made his senior debut for Adelaide United in December 2020 at the age of just 17.
Since then, he has made 69 first-team appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals while becoming an important member of the Australian club's squad.
Adelaide described the transfer as another example of the club's successful player development pathway.
"I'm very proud that I helped the club return to a level where it can once again compete for places in Asian competitions. I'm sincerely grateful to my teammates, coaches and especially the supporters. They always gave me the confidence to show who I am on the pitch," Dukuly said after completing his move.
'The next step in my career'
The 23-year-old believes joining Celje is the right move as he looks to establish himself in European football.
"This is the next step in my career. I'm grateful to Adelaide United for making this transfer possible. I'm joining a club that competes at the highest level in Europe, and I'm excited about this new challenge."
Dukuly also revealed one of his biggest ambitions.
"One day I want to play for the Australian national team. I believe this move will help me continue my development and bring me closer to that goal."

Adelaide United sporting director Mitch van Gellekom praised Dukuly's progress and described the transfer as a reward for years of hard work.
"Yaya has earned this opportunity. He improved every season, behaved like an outstanding professional and became an excellent role model for our younger players. Moments like this prove that our development system works. We'll be following his progress in European football with great interest."
Sixth signing of the summer
Dukuly becomes Celje's sixth signing ahead of the new season.
The Slovenian champions have already strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Matic Ivanšek, Žiga Frelih, Leonardo Koutris, Veton Tusha and Pijus Širvys as they prepare for another domestic title challenge and European competition.
The arrival of Dukuly adds further pace and creativity to Albert Riera's squad, with Celje hoping the Australian can quickly adapt to European football and make an immediate impact.
