Manchester United is not only facing staffing issues and managerial problems but is also seeing its infrastructure deteriorate. Old Trafford urgently needs renovation.
New co-owner of Manchester United, Jim Ratcliffe, plans a complete overhaul of the English football giant. This will be a costly endeavor that extends beyond just staffing. A significant problem also lies with Old Trafford itself, where the club's American owners have long neglected serious investment.
During yesterday's match against Arsenal (1:0), part of the roof failed. Water seeped through and drenched people. Additionally, water penetrated other parts of the stadium, including some dressing rooms. Footage has circulated online, causing dismay among Manchester United fans, while their rivals, of course, scoff.
One comment read: "Old Trafford's roof is as holey as Manchester United's defense."
Old Trafford is a legendary football facility, originally over a hundred years old. It can accommodate 74,310 spectators and was last renovated in 2006 when the club was firmly managed by the excellent coach Alex Ferguson.
Since the club has been managed by the American Glazer family, the stadium has been waiting in vain for additional investments and renovations for almost 20 years.
