New Panathinaikos coach Rui Vitoria opted to start the Slovenian duo on the bench in his first match in charge.
Panathinaikos began a new chapter today under Rui Vitoria, who led the team to a 1-0 away victory over Volos in his debut game. Currently fourth in the league, Panathinaikos secured all three points thanks to a 14th-minute goal by Filip Đuričić.
Slovenian striker Andraž Šporar remained on the bench for the entire match, while midfielder Adam Gnezda Čerin came on as a substitute in the 71st minute. Both players will be hoping for more playing time in four days when Panathinaikos travels to Sweden for a UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Djurgården.
Meanwhile, Panathinaikos’ fierce rivals Olympiacos continued their strong form with a 2-1 win over Panserraikos, moving them up to second place in the league standings.
