Italian football has once again been shaken by extreme fan behaviour after a group of Torino supporters staged a controversial protest outside the club’s training centre.

Footage circulating on social media shows around a dozen fans gathered at the entrance used by players, including Croatian internationals Nikola Vlašić and Kulenović, where they displayed a banner aimed at club president Urbano Cairo.

The message, spray-painted in red, contained an explicit insult directed at Cairo, reflecting growing frustration among sections of the fanbase.

Protest escalates tensions

Torino’s ultras are known for their passionate support, but this latest demonstration has sparked widespread criticism across Italy and beyond. The symbolic nature of the protest — staged directly at the players’ entrance — was seen by many as crossing a boundary.

While dissatisfaction with ownership and sporting direction has been evident in recent weeks, the method chosen to express that anger has divided opinion.

No official response yet

As of now, Torino have not issued a formal statement regarding the incident. It remains unclear whether authorities will take action against those involved.

The episode adds further pressure on Cairo and the club’s hierarchy at a sensitive point in the season, as Torino attempt to stabilise performances on the pitch.

For many observers, the incident serves as another reminder of how easily passion in football can tip into unacceptable territory.
