David Beckham shared a remarkable story about Luis Enrique’s work ethic after PSG reached another Champions League final by eliminating Bayern Munich.
David Beckham has revealed a remarkable insight into the work ethic of Luis Enrique after PSG secured another place in the Champions League final.
The French champions reached their second consecutive final after eliminating Bayern Munich in a dramatic semi-final.
Speaking on Paramount+ after PSG’s 1-1 draw in Munich, former PSG midfielder Beckham praised the team spirit and tactical identity built by the Spanish coach.
He then shared details from a conversation with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
"I spoke to Nasser at PSG and he told me that during his first year, Luis Enrique virtually slept every night at the training ground," Beckham revealed.
According to Beckham, the coach became completely obsessed with shaping the club’s future.
"He was working on how he wanted the team to look, how he wanted the team to play, who he wanted and what the future would look like."
Beckham added that the PSG president had rarely seen such dedication from a manager.
"He wants every player at the same level mentally, all wanting the same thing."
"He also wants players who run constantly and never stop. That’s exactly what he has built."
Luis Enrique has transformed PSG into one of the strongest teams in Europe with a younger and more aggressive squad built around energy, intensity, and tactical discipline.
The Paris club currently sit six points clear at the top of Ligue 1 ahead of challengers Lens.
Now they are preparing for another huge European challenge.
PSG will face Arsenal in the Champions League final in Budapest on May 30, where they will attempt to defend the European crown.
