SG beat Liverpool 2-0 in Paris and could have scored more, leaving the Reds facing a huge task at Anfield after a poor and lifeless performance.
Liverpool arrived in Paris far from their expected level, and the concerns proved justified. Paris Saint-Germain took control early and dictated the tempo from the opening minutes. In the 11th minute, Desire Doue scored to give PSG the lead after a strong start.
The home side continued to create chances, with both Doue and Ousmane Dembele coming close, but failing to convert. Liverpool struggled to find rhythm and offered little in attack, yet the score remained close and kept them in the game.
Then came the decisive moment, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it 2-0. After receiving a pass from Neves, the Georgian dribbled past the goalkeeper and finished calmly, showing why he carries the nickname "Kvaradon". From that point, Liverpool had no response.
PSG will travel to Anfield with a two-goal advantage, which could have been even greater based on their dominance. Liverpool now face a major challenge, especially as they are on a three-match losing streak in all competitions. Meanwhile, PSG controlled the match in every aspect, with goalkeeper Safonov largely untested.
