PSG plans to leave Parc des Princes, eyeing a 72-hectare site in Massy for a new stadium, sparking discontent among fans despite club ambitions.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is poised to leave their historic home, the Parc des Princes, as the club grows increasingly frustrated with the local authorities who own the venue. The stadium is not for sale, and the club, unwilling to invest heavily in a property it does not own, has decided to pursue alternatives.

While extensive dialogue has taken place between PSG and the authorities, little progress has been made, prompting the club to consider building a new stadium. However, finding a suitable location in Paris has proven difficult. The leading candidate for their new home is in Massy, a municipality approximately 20 kilometers outside Paris.

The proposed site in Massy spans 72 hectares and is currently unused, making it an attractive option for the Ligue 1 champions. French media reports suggest this location is the most viable choice at present.

The news, however, has not been well-received by fans, particularly the organized supporters' group Collectif Ultras Paris, who are opposed to the idea of leaving the French capital. Despite this, fan opposition rarely carries significant weight in French football decision-making, and PSG appears determined to proceed once a location is finalized.

This move follows PSG's recent development of a new training center on a separate site, replacing the old facility in Saint-Germain. The club remains on course to solidify its infrastructure in line with its ambitions.

Meanwhile, on the pitch, PSG leads the Ligue 1 standings after 16 rounds, holding a seven-point advantage over Marseille as they aim to secure another league title.
