NBA superstar Victor Wembanyama revealed he will support PSG in the Champions League final and jokingly mocked Arsenal during a chat with Steve Nash.
Victor Wembanyama is ready for the Champions League final, and the French NBA sensation already knows exactly who he will support.
The San Antonio Spurs star, who was born near Paris, admitted he will fully back Paris Saint-Germain in the biggest club match of the season.
Wembanyama discussed the final during a relaxed interview with NBA legend Steve Nash, a former two-time MVP and passionate football fan.
When Nash asked him about the favorite for the final, the Frenchman did not hesitate.
"Oh, come on! Of course, the favorite will be Paris Saint-Germain! Without a doubt!"
Then came the joke that immediately attracted attention online.
"PSG will make the final interesting to watch, because we all know very well that Arsenal will definitely not be the one to take care of the excitement of the spectators."
The comment made Nash laugh and quickly spread among football and basketball fans on social media.
Wembanyama has never hidden his love for football.
Like Luka Doncic, the 22-year-old often shows football skills before NBA games and regularly posts clips of himself juggling and training with a ball during vacations.
Before focusing completely on basketball, Wembanyama also played football as a child and even spent time as a goalkeeper.
He later incorporated elements of football training into his basketball development.
The French superstar is widely viewed as one of the most unique talents basketball has ever seen.
Standing at 224 centimeters, Wembanyama combines extraordinary height with agility, ball control and outside shooting ability rarely seen in players of his size.
That combination helped earn him the nickname "The Alien" in the United States.
PSG supporters will now hope the towering NBA phenomenon brings luck to the French champions.
Wembanyama already watched PSG’s semi-final victory against Manchester City live last season and clearly remains emotionally connected to the Paris club.
