PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov became the center of online controversy after an adult actress made provocative promises ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal.
PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov has unexpectedly found himself at the center of social media controversy ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal.
The Russian international became a trending topic after adult film actress Mary Rok publicly posted provocative messages directed at the goalkeeper before the final in Budapest.
According to reports circulating on social media, Rok promised Safonov a “hot night” if PSG defeat Arsenal at the Puskás Aréna on May 30.
She also reportedly made further provocative comments linked to the goalkeeper’s performance during the final.
The posts quickly spread online and generated strong reactions among football supporters and Russian media.
Safonov himself chose not to respond publicly to the situation.
However, his wife Marina Kondratjuk reacted with humor on social media and her response quickly attracted attention.
“The actress wished my husband luck in the Champions League final and promised him a ‘hot night’ for every save,” Marina reportedly wrote.
“She has no idea that ‘hot nights’ for him mean solving crossword puzzles and watching quiz shows before turning off the lights at 11:30 because he has training in the morning.”
The response was widely praised online, with many fans appreciating the calm and ironic way Safonov’s wife handled the situation.
Rok later claimed she only wanted to “motivate” the PSG goalkeeper before the biggest match of his career.
Safonov joined PSG from Krasnodar in a transfer reportedly worth around €20 million.
The goalkeeper’s private life has already attracted heavy media attention in recent years because of legal disputes involving his former wife and child support claims in Russia.
Russian media also closely followed the controversial breakdown of his first marriage and his later relationship with Marina Kondratjuk, who previously worked in Krasnodar’s marketing department.
Despite the off-field attention, Safonov remains focused on PSG’s preparations for the Champions League final, where the French giants are chasing the biggest trophy in club football.
