PSG eliminated Bayern Munich after a dramatic semi-final and booked a second consecutive Champions League final despite late pressure from the German side.
PSG are heading to the Champions League final for the second consecutive season after eliminating Bayern Munich in another dramatic European night.
Following the spectacular 5-4 victory in the first leg, the French champions protected their advantage in Munich and advanced with a 6-5 aggregate win.
The return leg started at an explosive pace and PSG struck almost immediately.
In the 3rd minute, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia broke through Bayern’s high defensive line and delivered a dangerous pass across the box.
Ousmane Dembele arrived perfectly and smashed the ball past Manuel Neuer for 1-0, giving PSG a huge aggregate advantage.
The early goal stunned Bayern Munich, who needed time to recover and organize their attack.
Luis Diaz and Michael Olise looked lively and created several dangerous situations, while Jamal Musiala also threatened, but the German side lacked efficiency in front of goal.
The biggest controversy of the match came in the 31st minute.
Bayern players demanded a penalty after Vitinha appeared to strike teammate Joao Neves in the hand inside the area, but the referee allowed play to continue.
The decision left the home side furious heading into half-time.
After the break, PSG defended intelligently and limited space around Harry Kane, who struggled to influence the game.
The introduction of Alphonso Davies gave Bayern fresh attacking energy and pushed the match deeper into the PSG half.
Later, coach Vincent Kompany also introduced Nicolas Jackson in a final attempt to save the tie.
Bayern Munich continued pressing until the final moments and finally found a goal in stoppage time through Harry Kane, who made it 1-1 on the night.
However, the late strike came too late to stop PSG, who celebrated another place in the biggest match in European club football.
Luis Enrique once again showed his tactical quality across the two legs, guiding the Parisian side past one of Europe’s strongest opponents.
