Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a move for Ibrahima Konate after eliminating Liverpool from the Champions League, with speculation intensifying about a potential summer transfer.
Konate, 25, is under contract at Anfield until the summer of 2025, but negotiations over an extension remain unresolved. Reports in France suggest PSG are pushing to convince the French international to return home, having previously spent time in their academy before moving to Sochaux and later RB Leipzig.
Liverpool face a precarious situation in defense, with Virgil van Dijk’s contract also nearing its final stages and Trent Alexander-Arnold linked with a potential move to Real Madrid. This uncertainty could make it harder for the Reds to resist PSG’s pursuit of Konate.
Liverpool offered Konate a contract renewal in January, but the defender has yet to make a decision about his long-term future. With PSG looking to strengthen their backline ahead of next season, the Parisians see Konate as an ideal addition.
With just over a year left on his deal, Liverpool will have to act fast if they want to secure Konate’s long-term commitment—or risk losing him to the club that just ended their European campaign.
