Paris Saint-Germain suffered their first Ligue 1 defeat of the season after 31 rounds, losing 3-1 to Nice just days before their Champions League semi-final clash with Arsenal.
Paris Saint-Germain have finally fallen. After 31 rounds of Ligue 1 action without defeat, PSG suffered their first loss of the season, falling 3-1 at home to Nice in a shock result at the Parc des Princes.
Coach Luis Enrique fielded a near full-strength side, resting only Bradley Barcola, who later entered as a substitute in the 59th minute. Despite their best lineup, the Parisians were stunned by a resilient Nice side determined to reignite their European ambitions for next season.
Even after the setback, PSG maintain a commanding 23-point lead over second-placed Marseille and remain firmly on course to clinch the French title. They boast a superior goal difference and the most solid defense in the league, further underlining their domestic dominance.
However, the timing of the defeat is less than ideal. PSG are gearing up for a critical moment in their European campaign—the Champions League semi-finals against Arsenal. The first leg will take place at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
While their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 is over, PSG will now shift focus to bigger ambitions: chasing a historic Champions League title under Luis Enrique’s leadership.
