Feyenoord and Ajax are both in crisis after four straight defeats, leaving PSV Eindhoven with a clear advantage in the Eredivisie title race.
PSV Eindhoven appear to be cruising toward another Eredivisie title as traditional rivals Ajax and Feyenoord continue to struggle. Both Dutch giants have now suffered four consecutive defeats in all competitions — something that has never happened before in the same period.
Feyenoord’s 3-1 home defeat to Celtic in Europe marked another setback for Robin van Persie, who is now facing the first major crisis of his coaching career. The club’s title defence hopes are slipping away fast, and next weekend’s match against bottom side Telstar has become a must-win to stop the rot.
The situation at Ajax is even worse. The Amsterdam giants are sixth in the league, 14 points behind PSV, and have managed to score only two goals throughout November. The chaos surrounding the club’s management and inconsistent performances has left supporters fearing another season without silverware.
Meanwhile, PSV have lost only once and drawn once in 13 matches, maintaining a six-point lead at the top. They haven’t been beaten since September and continue to look like the most balanced and dominant team in the Netherlands under Peter Bosz.
Already 26-time Dutch champions and reigning title holders, PSV seem well on their way to retaining the crown — unless Feyenoord or Ajax can rediscover their form quickly. For now, the highway to the championship runs straight through Eindhoven.
