18-year-old Diego Leon has officially joined Manchester United and boldly declared he’s not interested in a loan move, vowing to earn his place in Ruben Amorim’s senior squad immediately.

Manchester United have completed the signing of promising Paraguayan full-back Diego Leon, who arrived in England after turning 18 in April. The former Cerro Porteño talent is already making headlines—not just for his potential, but for his fearless attitude.

Leon, who made 33 senior appearances in Paraguay’s top flight and even scored a goal in the prestigious Copa Libertadores, was presented to United fans today. The club confirmed that he will begin with the youth team, but will also train with the first team under new manager Ruben Amorim.

In his first statement as a United player, Leon was clear about his ambitions: “I’m very happy, that’s what all footballers dream of. As a professional, you have to adapt quickly and for me this is a great opportunity.”

He quickly shut down the idea of a development loan: “Everyone says I’ll go on loan somewhere, but I don’t have that in mind. I’ll ‘kill’ in pre-season and after one or two games I’ll be part of the team!”

The young left-back is inspired by Marcelo, the legendary Brazilian and Real Madrid icon, whose attacking flair and leadership Leon aims to emulate at Old Trafford.

Leon’s confidence and ambition have already caught the attention of fans and pundits alike. Whether he breaks into Amorim’s squad immediately remains to be seen, but one thing’s certain—he’s not here to wait his turn.
