FK Partizan have secured the funds required for UEFA licensing through a short-term €1.5m loan from KK Partizan, with the situation expected to be resolved after Grimaldo’s transfer.

Partizan have secured the funds required to complete the UEFA licensing process, thanks to a short-term internal loan from KK Partizan.

The football section received €1.5 million, allowing it to meet UEFA’s strict financial criteria within the required deadline. According to an official statement, the loan is purely temporary and will be repaid once an outgoing transfer is finalised.

Grimaldo sale key to repayment

Partizan expect the situation to be fully resolved following the sale of Grimaldo, with the incoming transfer fee projected to arrive on January 16, and no later than February 1. That transaction is set to close the financial structure and enable the immediate return of the borrowed funds.

Club officials stressed that the arrangement reflects internal solidarity rather than a long-term financial measure, designed solely to bridge a short-term gap during the licensing process.

UEFA criteria met on time

By securing the loan, Partizan enter the final stage of UEFA licensing with all necessary obligations covered, avoiding potential sanctions or restrictions from European competitions.

The move highlights close cooperation within the Partizan sporting structure, with the basketball section stepping in at a critical moment to ensure the football club’s compliance with European regulations.

Once the Grimaldo transfer is completed, the loan will be repaid and the licensing process formally concluded, allowing Partizan to focus fully on sporting objectives for the remainder of the season.
