Partizan's new leadership fully backs Savo Milošević as coach, stating the club doesn’t need Pep Guardiola but someone like Milošević.
Savo Milošević has received strong support as the head coach of FK Partizan during today’s press conference, where even Pep Guardiola was mentioned in an interesting context.
The press conference, held today in Belgrade, featured members of Partizan’s new leadership, including Rasim Ljajić, president of the interim committee, and members Predrag Mijatović and Danko Lazović. Mijatović, who left for Valencia in 1993, is now officially back in a club leadership role for the first time.
Mijatović, reflecting on his return, expressed:
"I still don’t know how I’m here today. It’s becoming clearer now. We didn’t know each other, nor did we talk about this situation. We met twice, and the decision was made at the last moment. I said to myself, ‘Is this really happening?’ Kudos to Rasim, who convinced me. I came without any personal interest, something from within is calling me."
He added:
"We’ve been struggling for years, and every time something goes wrong, the media calls me. It’s hard to comment when you’re not on the inside. Now that I have a clear picture, maybe one day we’ll explain how I was persuaded."
Mijatović emphasized the importance of fan support:
"I’m pleased that the fans have decided to return and cheer louder than ever. If a father brings his son to the game, he should teach him to scream and send positive energy. That helps us make tough decisions."
Regarding the coaching situation, Mijatović said:
"We’ve spoken with Savo, and he has our full support. Even if Savo Milošević wasn’t the coach, I would’ve appointed him. Right now, we don’t need Guardiola, we need Savo Milošević."
He further added:
"We also need Danko because if we don’t fix the house now, when will we? To the players, we can forgive a missed goal, like in ‘98, but we won’t forgive a lack of effort. Danko and I missed a lot of chances and lost a lot of games, but nonchalance won’t be tolerated."
The new interim board includes Danko Lazović, Predrag Mijatović, Milka Forcan, Vojin Lazarević, Dragan Milovanović, and Boban Stojanović, as confirmed by Rasim Ljajić.
In addition to the press conference, the big news for Partizan is that the fans have ended their year-long boycott.
