Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra are reportedly giving their marriage a second chance, following a three-day Easter reunion at their home in Barcelona.
Pep Guardiola and his wife Cristina Serra are reportedly trying to reconcile after a period of separation, according to Catalan outlet El Nacional. The couple spent three days together in Barcelona over Easter, where they are said to have reconnected and agreed to "give each other another chance."
The pair had announced their shock split in January, with divorce proceedings reportedly starting the following month. Serra returned to Barcelona back in 2019 with the couple’s youngest child to focus on her fashion business, while Guardiola remained in Manchester managing Manchester City.
Sources close to the family believe that Guardiola’s decision to extend his City contract in November 2024—a move that surprised Serra—may have contributed to the marital rift. The latest reports now suggest the City boss plans to travel to Catalunya weekly to prevent further long absences from his wife and family.
Pep and Cristina first met in 1994 and married in 2014. They have three children together and have kept their private life largely away from the spotlight.
This season has arguably been one of the most emotionally challenging for Guardiola, both professionally and personally. City are still fighting to secure Champions League qualification and are chasing another FA Cup title, but Guardiola’s focus may also be shifting toward healing things at home.
While the summer break could offer a much-needed reset, City’s participation in the Club World Cup in the United States may complicate his plans to spend extended time in Barcelona.
