The Manchester City boss reportedly spent three nights with his estranged wife Cristina Serra in a bid to reconcile after their shock split.
Pep Guardiola is not ready to walk away from his marriage without a fight. The Manchester City manager reportedly flew to Barcelona last week in a secret attempt to mend his 30-year relationship with Cristina Serra.
According to The Sun, Guardiola took a private jet from Manchester just hours after City’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Plymouth. The timing of the trip was key, as City had a seven-day break before their next Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, which ended in a surprising defeat.
Reunion in Barcelona
Guardiola reportedly spent three nights at their family home in Barcelona, with the couple making efforts to reconnect.
"They spent three nights together in Barcelona, both staying at the family home," a source told The Sun.
"Pep went out on Monday to the dentist, and Cristina went to her fashion shop in the city centre. They met up again at the shop and spent three hours there before returning to the house to spend the evening together. Pep left for Manchester on Tuesday morning."
A civil split—But is reconciliation possible?
The couple, who have three children, announced their separation in January but have handled the situation amicably, even hiring the same lawyer to oversee divorce proceedings. Reports indicate that they had already agreed on a multi-million-pound settlement, with Guardiola’s estimated $126 million fortune at stake.
However, his unexpected trip has fueled speculation that their relationship may not be completely over.
What went wrong?
Sources in Spain suggest that their struggles began when Cristina moved back to Barcelona in 2019, creating distance between them. Now, with their latest meeting in Barcelona, fans are wondering whether love can triumph after all.
As of now, neither Guardiola nor Serra have publicly commented on their reunion, leaving many to speculate about whether the City boss has managed to rekindle the flame.
