Paul Pogba confirms rejecting a Russian offer and sets his sights on a Champions League return after serving his suspension for doping.

French midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed that he turned down an offer from Russia during his doping suspension and remains determined to return to the Champions League.

Pogba, who was initially suspended for four years after testing positive for a banned substance in September 2023, had his ban reduced to 18 months following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Despite this reduction, Juventus terminated his contract, leaving the 31-year-old midfielder as a free agent.

With his suspension set to end in March, Pogba has been linked with several clubs across the globe, including potential moves to the Saudi Pro League, Major League Soccer (MLS), and Ligue 1. During a recent Twitch interview with popular French streamer AmineMaTue, Pogba confirmed receiving offers from Russia but made it clear that his ambitions lie elsewhere.

"There were some offers, some interesting things, and some not so interesting ones... Russia, all that, there were offers, but that’s not my goal. We have other ambitions. A club in the Champions League? Why not. If an offer comes, of course, why not," Pogba stated, as reported by Goal.

He further emphasized his desire to play for a top-tier club, saying, "We always aim to be at the best clubs, but ultimately, it’s not just up to me. Many other things have to fall into place."

Reports surfaced last October suggesting Pogba had received an offer to participate in Russia's celebrity and influencer football league. However, speculation now points towards a potential move to Olympique de Marseille, where he could make a return to French football.

Pogba's suspension stemmed from testing positive for a testosterone-boosting substance following Juventus' Serie A match against Udinese in August 2023. His last professional appearance was on September 3, 2023, in a match against Empoli, before the doping allegations emerged.
