Porto stabilizes its finances by selling Evanilson to Bournemouth for €47 million, marking the Brazilian striker as the most expensive signing in the club’s history.
Porto has managed to address its financial concerns once more, this time through the lucrative sale of Evanilson to Bournemouth. The Brazilian striker is now the most expensive player in Bournemouth's history, taking over from Dominic Solanke, who recently moved to Tottenham for €65 million—a record-breaking outgoing transfer for the club.
Just a day after the transfer was rumored, Bournemouth completed the deal, although it remains to be seen whether Evanilson will be ready for their match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday at 4 PM.
While Bournemouth has yet to officially confirm the transfer—though they are expected to do so shortly—Porto has already disclosed almost all the details on their official website, focusing on the agreement between the two clubs.
Porto will receive a total of €47 million for 100% of Evanilson's rights, comprising a fixed fee of €37 million and €10 million in bonuses. Additionally, Porto retains 10% of any future sale, ensuring further financial benefit from the player's career.
Evanilson's move comes as a significant reinforcement for Bournemouth, who were in need of a new attacking option following Solanke's departure. The Brazilian forward joined Porto from Fluminense in the summer of 2020, scoring 60 goals and providing 21 assists across 154 matches. During his time with the Portuguese giants, Evanilson won a league title, three Portuguese Cups, a Super Cup, and a League Cup.
