Raul Gonzalez, the legendary Real Madrid striker, is reportedly a serious candidate to take over as head coach at Sevilla, marking his potential debut in a top-flight managerial role.

Raul Gonzalez, the iconic former Real Madrid striker, has long been anticipated to step into a top managerial role. Despite his hopes to lead Real Madrid’s first team, the current situation under Carlo Ancelotti, who enjoys the full confidence of president Florentino Perez and has a contract until 2026, leaves little room for such a change. Furthermore, should Ancelotti depart, Perez is likely to pursue Xabi Alonso, the successful manager of Bayer Leverkusen.

Currently coaching Real Madrid's reserve team, Raul may soon find himself in La Liga. According to Cadena SER, he has received an offer to become the head coach of Sevilla.

Sevilla has faced numerous challenges this season and will not participate in European competitions next year. With Raul, the club aims to embark on a new long-term sports project, hoping to revive their fortunes under his leadership.

Raul, who played for Real Madrid from 1994 to 2010 and has been coaching various youth teams at the club since 2018, now faces the possibility of leading Sevilla in an attempt to stabilize and rebuild the team.
