Manchester City is finalizing the signing of Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves for around €40 million, as Pep Guardiola continues reshaping his defensive line.
Manchester City are on the verge of signing Rayan Ait-Nouri, with only minor details separating the Algerian full-back from a dream move to the reigning English champions.
Pep Guardiola has reportedly pushed hard for the 23-year-old, who made 41 appearances for Wolverhampton this season and has long been on the radar of top European clubs. According to reports, City will pay around €40 million for the transfer.
Ait-Nouri is best known for his pace, composure, and attacking runs down the left flank. A product of Paris FC, the full-back began his professional journey at Angers before Wolves brought him to the Premier League in the summer of 2020.
With his contract expiring in 2025, this summer was the right time for Wolves to cash in. The timing also aligns with Guardiola's broader plans to revamp his defensive setup.
City have already started rebuilding their back line. In January, they added promising defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis, while veteran Kyle Walker left the club to join AC Milan on loan.
Assuming the final details are resolved, Ait-Nouri is expected to become the next piece in Guardiola’s evolving defensive puzzle for the 2025/26 season.
