Rayan Cherki has completed a high-profile move from Lyon to Manchester City, and the 21-year-old is wasting no time in making bold statements—specifically about his new club’s biggest rivals.
Widely regarded as the best dribbler in Ligue 1 last season, Cherki is still smarting from Manchester United’s Europa League elimination of Lyon and has set his sights on payback in the upcoming Manchester derby.
“I want to win every game,” said Cherki. “I didn’t like it when Manchester United beat us. I grew up in Lyon, and now I can’t wait for the first derby—to ‘kill’ them.”
