Real Madrid have confirmed Nico Paz will remain at Como next season, while the Spanish giants retain a buy-back option for the Argentine midfielder.

Nico Paz will continue his development at Como after Real Madrid officially confirmed an agreement allowing the Argentine midfielder to remain in Italy for another season.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign under Cesc Fabregas, establishing himself as one of Serie A's brightest young talents. His outstanding performances helped Como secure qualification for the Champions League, while Paz finished the season with an impressive return of 21 goals and assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.
Although Como signed the midfielder from Real Madrid, the Spanish giants included buy-back clauses in the original deal, ensuring they maintained control over one of the club's most highly rated academy graduates.
Real Madrid confirmed the new agreement in an official statement.
"Real Madrid, Como 1907 and Nico Paz have reached an agreement under which the midfielder will remain with the Italian club next season. The agreement reflects the player's strong desire to continue his development at Como, while Real Madrid retain a buy-back option in the summer of 2027."
The Spanish club did not disclose the financial details of the arrangement. However, reports in Spain suggest Como could eventually complete a permanent transfer worth around €60 million, while Real Madrid would retain the right to re-sign Paz for approximately €80 million through the agreed buy-back clause. Those figures have not been officially confirmed.
Paz is currently representing Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, where he continues to strengthen his growing reputation as one of South America's most exciting young midfielders.
For now, both clubs appear satisfied with the compromise. Como keep one of their key players for another season, while Real Madrid continue to monitor the progress of a footballer many at the Santiago Bernabéu believe has the quality to return and become part of the club's future.
