Real Madrid could be about to pull off one of the smartest transfer deals of the summer by bringing back Nico Paz for just €9 million, only to sell him immediately for around €60 million.

The 21-year-old Argentina international enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Como after leaving Madrid last year in a deal worth €6 million. As part of that agreement, Real secured valuable buy-back clauses, allowing the club to re-sign Paz for €9 million this summer or €11 million in 2027.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, representatives of Real Madrid and Como are scheduled to meet this week to discuss the midfielder's future. Madrid are seriously considering activating the clause before deciding whether to keep the player or cash in on his soaring value.

Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reports that an immediate sale is one of the options under discussion, with Real valuing Paz at around €60 million. If the move goes ahead, the Spanish giants would make a profit of more than €50 million after re-signing him for only €9 million.

Nico Paz was one of Serie A's breakout stars

Paz established himself as one of the revelations of the Serie A season under coach Cesc Fàbregas. He scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 40 appearances, playing a leading role as Como secured a historic fourth-place finish and qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

His performances attracted interest from several of Europe's biggest clubs, while his current market value is estimated at €80 million, underlining how quickly his reputation has grown.

Como hope to keep their star

Como would like Paz to remain at the club for their first Champions League campaign, but Real Madrid control the situation thanks to the buy-back clause included in last year's transfer.

The coming days are expected to determine whether Paz returns to the Santiago Bernabéu to fight for a place in the squad or becomes the latest example of Real Madrid's increasingly successful transfer strategy.
