Real Madrid has reportedly decided against making any urgent purchases in January, instead planning for a significant squad overhaul next summer.
According to the Madrid-based newspaper AS, Real Madrid’s management has resolved not to pursue any urgent transfers in the upcoming winter window. Despite injuries to key defenders Eder Militao, David Alaba, and Dani Carvajal, the club is set on avoiding panic buys.
Instead, Real Madrid will rely on its youth players to cover defensive gaps. Specifically, 18-year-olds Jacob Ramon and Raul Asencio are expected to step up, with Asencio already making an impact by providing an assist against Osasuna.
While winter may be quiet, a major defensive overhaul is anticipated in the summer. AS claims that Real Madrid is planning to bring in at least four new players, focusing on defense. Among the rumored targets for full-back positions are Alphonso Davies and Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contracts end this summer. German center-back Jonathan Tah is reportedly the top choice for central defense, while young star Florian Wirtz is considered the ‘galactic’ addition.
