Real Madrid's women's team defeated Barcelona 3-1 away, earning their first El Clásico win after 18 consecutive defeats.
Real Madrid's women's team stunned Barcelona with a 3-1 away win, ending an 18-match losing streak in the Spanish El Clásico.
Alba Redondo opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 41st minute, but Caroline Graham Hansen levelled the match in the 67th.
The breakthrough win came thanks to Karoline Vilhjálmsdóttir, who netted twice — first in the 87th minute and then deep into stoppage time — to hand Real a historic victory.
Barcelona thought they had taken the lead in the 81st minute through Hana Fernández, but her goal was ruled out for offside in a controversial decision. There is no VAR system in the Spanish women's league.
Despite the defeat, Barcelona remain top of the table, now holding a four-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid.
