Paris FC confirms Red Bull's 10.6% stake acquisition, joining the Arnault family in ambitious plans to secure promotion to Ligue 1 and rival Paris Saint-Germain.
Paris FC, currently topping the Ligue 2 table, has officially announced the involvement of Red Bull as a minority stakeholder. The Austrian company, known for its investments in football clubs like RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls, now owns 10.6% of Paris FC, as revealed by the club’s president, Pierre Ferracci, in a statement.
"We’ve taken an important step in the history of our club," Ferracci declared. "With the arrival of Agache Sports and Red Bull, we’ve secured the resources to pursue ambitious goals. We won’t rush things, and the identity of Paris FC remains our priority. Our region has incredible potential, and this partnership will provide better working conditions for both our youth and senior teams."
A new era for Paris FC
This development comes shortly after the entry of the Arnault family, Europe’s wealthiest dynasty, which recently acquired a majority stake in Paris FC. The Arnaults, known for their ownership of luxury conglomerate LVMH, have described their investment as a family project, signaling a serious commitment to elevating the club’s stature.
Paris FC, last seen in Ligue 1 during the 1978/79 season, has made steady progress in recent years, finishing fifth in Ligue 2 last season. With their new owners providing both financial support and strategic partnerships, the club is now firmly targeting promotion to the French top flight.
The rise of a city rivalry?
The potential promotion of Paris FC could set the stage for fascinating derbies against Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Ligue 1 champions. For years, PSG has been the dominant force in French football, but the emergence of a more ambitious Paris FC could inject fresh excitement into the city’s football scene.
With Red Bull’s expertise in building successful football operations and the Arnault family’s resources, Paris FC is well-positioned to turn its Ligue 1 dreams into reality.
