Red Bull is exploring a move to acquire Serie B club Südtirol, aiming to expand its global football network into Italy.

Red Bull is continuing its global football expansion, with Italy now firmly in its sights.

According to reports from Tuttomercatoweb, the energy giant is seriously considering entering the ownership structure of FC Südtirol, a club currently competing in Serie B.

The Bolzano-based club has built a reputation as one of the most stable and well-structured projects in Italian football. Its steady rise and clear focus on developing young players align closely with Red Bull’s football philosophy.

The club’s location in a predominantly German-speaking region also adds to its appeal, fitting naturally into Red Bull’s Central European network.

This is not the first time Red Bull has shown interest in Südtirol. Previous attempts to enter the club were rejected, but current reports suggest that the owners are now more open to negotiations.

If the deal goes through, Südtirol would join one of the most powerful football networks in the world.

Red Bull’s portfolio already includes RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Bragantino, along with minority stakes in clubs such as Leeds United and Paris FC.

The company has been searching for an entry point into the Italian market for some time. In 2024, it became a sponsor of Torino, marking its first concrete step toward a larger presence in the country.

Südtirol’s story adds further value to the potential move.

Founded in 1995, the club climbed steadily through the lower leagues before earning promotion to Serie B in 2022 for the first time in its history.

Since then, it has established itself as a competitive side, even challenging for promotion to Serie A. The team currently sits in mid-table but remains within reach of the playoff spots.

The club also has connections to Slovenian football.

Jasmin Kurtić recently played for Südtirol, making 27 appearances and scoring one goal after joining in March following spells at PAOK and Craiova.

Domen Črnigoj previously featured for the club, recording 14 appearances, and has since returned as a winter signing from Trieste. The 30-year-old midfielder has been building his career in Italy since 2020.

While no agreement has been finalized, the direction is clear.

Red Bull continues its aggressive expansion strategy, and Italy appears to be the next major step.
