Stuttgart will pay €6 million for Red Star's rising star, son of Milan Jovanović, following his strong season on loan at OFK Beograd.
Red Star Belgrade is on the verge of finalizing a €6 million transfer for Milan Jovanović Jr., the son of former Serbian international Milan “Lane” Jovanović, according to Mozzart Sport.
The Serbian champions have reportedly accepted a concrete offer from Bundesliga side Stuttgart, who are eager to secure the signature of the highly-rated Serbian youth international.
Jovanović, who only recently joined Red Star from Vojvodina, spent the previous season on loan at OFK Beograd, where he impressed with consistent performances in the Serbian SuperLiga.
Although he made just a handful of appearances for Red Star's first team, the potential and maturity he showed on loan caught the eye of Stuttgart’s scouts. The deal will see him become one of several young prospects to leave the "Marakana" in recent years for financially stronger European clubs.
To avoid any last-minute setbacks, Jovanović will reportedly leave Red Star’s preseason preparations to avoid injury risk, as he prepares to finalize personal terms and complete the final formalities of the move.
