Zvezdan Terzić, the director of Crvena zvezda (Red Star Belgrade), has promised huge bonuses for the players following their stunning 5-1 victory over Stuttgart in the Europa League. Slovenian internationals Timi Max Elšnik and Vanja Drkušić, key contributors to the victory, are also set to benefit from this reward.
Speaking after the match, Terzić emphasized the confidence he had in the team ahead of the game.
"Today, I met with the players and told them we would win—they needed to believe in victory. We promised them a massive bonus for the three points. We believed in this win and conveyed that belief to the players," Terzić said.
Terzić noted that the energy on the training ground was positive in the days leading up to the match, and he credited the team’s quality and unity for the memorable performance.
"I’ve felt great energy at training sessions recently, and I told the players about it. We have exceptional players, an amazing team, and a fantastic coach. It was only a matter of time before this showed on the pitch. Despite previous results, we’ve always believed in what we’re building here," he added.
The director described the victory over Stuttgart as one of the most significant in the club’s European history and a testament to Crvena zvezda’s ambition to grow into a major European powerhouse.
"This is one of the greatest European victories in Crvena zvezda’s history. It’s proof that we are building a great Red Star. I believe tonight all of Europe is talking about Crvena zvezda," Terzić stated.
He also called on the fans to show their support in domestic competitions, highlighting how crucial their presence is for the team’s preparation for European clashes.
"I invite all our fans to come to our matches in the domestic league as well. These games are preparation for European matches, and our players need their support. Everything is easier with strong fan backing. I’m happy tonight, and I believe the whole of Serbia is happy," Terzić concluded.
